Nepal Health Care Co-operative Limited (NEHCO) was established to contribute the nation in health sectors by establishing hospital to provide health services to the people of marginalized group and to start health science academic programs to uplift the academic standard in the field of education.

After continuous and serious exercise, NEHCO-Nepal established a hospital by the name of Former Prime Minister late Manmohan Adhikari, a great patriot and renowned leader whose whole life was dedicated to uplift the people and the nation.

This has brought great inspiration and enthusiasm in whole health sector.

To launch health services with such a noble mission the co-operative concept was decided to be adopted.

Our Company History

Nepal Health Care Co-operative Limited (NEHCO) has been founded on 17th March, 2006 with the aim of providing quality health care, producing competent human resource and conducting research through co-operative initiative by collecting scattered capitals within the country.

NEHCO is committed to make the name and fame of former Prime Minister Late Manmohan Adhikari, a great patriot and legendary leader of Nepal and South Asia who devoted his whole life for the cause of nation and people, as a permanent source of inspiration. Beginning with 28 Share members’ participation to register NECHO in Kathmandu division co-operative office the Share member’s number has crossed above 2600 till the end of December 2021.

As we know the current Child mortality levels, one in every 21 Nepalese children dies before they reach a year, while one in every sixteen does not survive to the fifth birthday. Data from the 2006 NDHS show that infant mortality has declined by 41 percent over the past 15 years form 82 deaths per 1,000 live births to 48. Under-five mortality has gone down by 48 percent from 117 deaths per 1,000 live births to 61. The corresponding declines in neonatal and post-neonatal mortality over the 15 years period are 33 percent and 55 percent, respectively. Maternal health is a grave concern of the policy makers. Forty-four percent of mothers received antenatal care form skilled birth attendants (SBAs) for the health status over the last few decades; many challenges are being faced to improve the health status of people by the complicated emergence and resurgence of communicable diseases and on communicable diseases: notably new avian flu, emergence of the HIV/AIDS pandemic, irrational use of drug and environmental threats to the public health are significant challenges.

Health services facilities in Nepal and even in the capital Kathmandu are yet far beyond the reach of poor and middle economic class people. There is a distinct gap and discrepancy that has created unmanageable load on government aided hospital. In these circumstances after continuous and serious exercises we decided to establish a hospital by the name of Late Manmohan Adhakari renounced leader whose whole life was dedicated for the up liftmen of the people and the nation. To launch health services with such an noble mission, the co-operative concept was decided to be the best. Manmohan Memorial Hospital 100 bedded well equipped hospital has been established under NEHCO and to get support in health service NEHCO-Nepal has also established Manmohan Memorial Institute of health sciences (MMIHS) affiliated under Tribhuvan University and CTEVT and running various diplomas and Bachelor level programmed.

Nepal Health Care Co-operative Limited (NEHCO) was thus founded and registered on March 17, 2006 after fulfilling all required criteria under which following organization is running

Nepal Health Care Co-operative Limited (NEHCO) envisions ensuring the quality of life of the Nepalese people through the provision of quality health education and health services. 

Nepal Health Care Co-operative Limited (NEHCO) was established to contribute to the nation in health sectors by establishing hospitals to provide health services to the people of a marginalized group and to start health science academic programs to uplift the academic standard in the field of education.

Those established colleges and hospitals seek to prepare socially responsible and technically competent health professionals in the society, not only to pass examinations or profession but also aims at developing a tolerant, balanced, independent, and right attitude of mind and spirit and a desire to serve the patient with head, hands, and heart. Its special characteristics are the wide range of activities that it provides with the idea of developing a full personality and to bring out talents of the students for developing own benefit and that of society as a whole.

Promote quality health services through equity in service delivery, social inclusion in health program planning and health service utilization, and production of competent human resources including marginalized groups and remote areas of Nepal.
